Evelyn’s project was born with the goal of creating a seat that had an essential structure with the fewest possible elements sufficient to perform the load-bearing function: this is why we used generative design as a leading tool during the design process.
The result is an armchair characterized by a fresh aesthetic, delivering a one-of-a-kind appearance and a strong character. Some salient features of the product have been outlined from the very beginning, such as the exclusive use of wood and a clear distinction between the structure and the seating. Furthermore, by merging the legs and frame into a single structure, we created a flat-packable design that can be assembled without tools in just a few minutes. Having every element separated also entails another great advantage: the user is free to independently replace each part, if broken or damaged, and to fully customize finishes and colors at the same time.
Thanks to the unique shape of the seat, the chair provides a snuggly and cocooned seating experience.
